Here’s a breakdown of the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet exclusives and version differences to help make your choice easier.
For years Pokemon fans have used version differences to decide which of the two newly released games to purchase, and Scarlet & Violet should be no different. Here’s an overview of all the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet versions exclusives.
Dating back to the release of Pokemon Blue & Red in 1996, Pokemon fans have had to choose between multiple versions of the franchise’s mainline insalments. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet will present the same dilemma to players as they welcome the ninth generation of Pokemon.
While most players are interested in discovering the version exclusive Pokemon that are attached to each of the games, Scarlet and Violet will introduce more version differences than ever when they release on November 18.
Here’s everything you need to know about the version differences between Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
It will come as no surprise to learn that box legendaries Koraidon and Miraidon will be version-exclusive Pokemon. Koraidon is the face of Pokemon Scarlet, while Miraidon is synonymous with Pokemon Violet.
These two legendary Pokemon will be your method of transportation around the Paldea region across the ground, water, and air. Make your choice wisely as you’ll likely be seeing a lot of Koraidon and Miraidon.
The Pokemon Company also confirmed that the pseudo-legendary evolution lines of Tyranitar and Salamence will be version exclusives. Larvitar will appear exclusively in Pokemon Scarlet, while Bagon will only be found in Violet.
In addition, generation eight Pokemon Stonjourner and Eiscue will also be version exclusives for Scarlet and Violet respectively.
We’ll keep you posted as more version-exclusive Pokemon are confirmed leading up to the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
For the first time in the Pokemon franchise, players will have a different professor depending on the version they select.
Professor Sada seen on the left is one of the Paldea region’s two professors and appears in Pokemon Scarlet. Meanwhile, Turo seen on the right is the professor you’ll encounter in Pokemon Violet.
As you can see from the professors’ attire, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet seem to be setting up a theme of ancient vs modern. It remains to be seen how this will impact Scarlet and Violet’s gameplay but the environment and design of its characters could vary.
Paldea’s largest city in the region, Mesagoza, is home to the academy you’ll attend. Scarlet players will visit Naranja Academy, while Violet players will hone their skills at Uva Academy.
According to a Pokemon blog: “In Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, the name of the school, its emblem, its uniforms, and other details will differ depending on which game version you’re playing.”
The Naranja and Uva Academy uniform colors vary to match the respective title’s color theme. Pokemon Sword and Shield introduced the concept of version-exclusive gym leaders, and while there’s no sign of them in Scarlet and Violet, we’ll keep you posted as more information comes to light.

Apex Legends Season 13 is well underway, but who has dominated the pick rates for Season 13 of Respawn’s battle royale so far?
Season 13 of Apex Legends has tons of characters to choose from to enjoy its several maps. But who has the top Season 13 pick rates in Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale shooter?
Apex Legends hit the ground running when it launched with eight different characters to choose from in its battle royale offering. The game suffered a notable lull when Call of Duty: Warzone launched, but with many popular streamers such as NICKMERCS and Dr Disrespect continuing to support the game, Apex has grown expeditiously.
There are now a whopping 21 different Legends to choose from, giving players a headache before each game. With Season 14 on the horizon, players are set to gain yet another Legend in Vantage, making the decision even harder.
Let’s see how the current roster’s pick rates are looking to give us an idea of the most popular Legends in Apex Legends Season 13 before the new Legend arrives to shake it up.
This is our complete list of every character pick in Apex Legends, and we’ve ranked them in order to let you know which are favored.
Here is every Apex Legends pick rate in Season 13 ranked, as of August 5, 2022, according to Apex Legends Status:
Again, with the influx of new Apex Legends players, Bloodhound is a great character to use for new players in Season 13.
Bloodhound nearly always stays in and around the 8-11% mark as a season goes on, and they currently stand at 8.5%. They are easily the top Recon class to use in Apex Legends, thanks to their tracking tools and incredible skills, plus, their Beast of the Hunt Ultimate is priceless.
Pathfinder has consistently been one of Apex Legends’ top five picks at 8.6%, and counting, for quite some time now.
As a Recon class, Pathfinder simply excels in movements and traversing the game’s various maps. His Grappling Hook and Zipline Gun are simply invaluable assets that will help any team in a pinch – either because of the circle or a third-party situation. He consistently manages to stay in the top 5 as a result.
Despite false nerf rumors, Valkyrie is the third most popular Legend for Season 13 with a 9.5% pick rate. The movement Queen’s Jetpack Passive allows players to escape any kind of situation, which is crucial to surviving.
As well as her Passive, her Skyward Dive Ultimate is also great for mobility. This ability is the best rotational tool in all of Apex Legends, as it allows her and the team to relocate from a bad position or situation, into a good one.
Lastly, Valkyrie’s Tactical is also extremely useful for being aggressive and getting enemies out of camping spots, so long as you have enough room above you to launch the Missile Swarm.
Another starting Legend, Wraith has been a consistent pick throughout Apex Legends’ lifetime, and she has taken the number two spot with a 10.1% pick rate in Season 13.
Wraith’s stand-out features are her ability to get out of trouble very quickly – teammates included. Her abilities allow her to sense danger, become temporarily invulnerable, and create portals to escape predicaments. It’s easy to see why Wraith continues to be an absolute fan favorite in Apex Legends Season 13.
With an 11.3% pick rate, the speed demon takes the number one spot again, continuing his reign as one of the most popular Legends in Season 13, fluctuating between the top two places.
Aside from his amusing quips, he is the perfect balance of offense and defense. Despite being regarded as an offensive Legend, Octane can greatly increase his sprint speed which is useful for both attack and running away.
But most Octane users thrive on his Launch Pad Ultimate which can send him, and friendly players, high up into the air.
That covers all the picks in Apex Legends Season 13. As always, buffs and nerfs will come and go throughout the season, altering the game’s meta, and subsequently, Legend pick rates.
We’ll be sure to keep this updated regularly so you can stay on top of the in picks and don’t forget to check out our guide on the best Legends to choose in Season 13.
Apex Legends Season 14 will see a variety of buffs and nerfs, but it seems the Charge Rifle is not a priority for the devs.
The Apex Legends devs have revealed information regarding the Charge Rifle, which is set for a nerf, but not in Season 14.
Apex Legends Season 14 is set to bring a variety of changes to the game, including various buffs and nerfs to weapons and Legends. This has players excited, with Apex pro ImperialHal even feeling like Season 14 will be “broken” but in a good way.
The new Legend Vantage is sure to spice things up, along with the Laser Sight attachment, which could bring a close-range SMG meta to the battle royale.
While the long-range playstyle of Vantage gave the devs some fears, during a press event, Senior Game Designer Eric Canavese also touched on the Charge Rifle and its strength, mentioning that nerfs for the weapon are in the works.
According to The Loadout, Canavese said that there are “no plans to do anything about the Charge Rifle in Season 14.”
Eric Canavese also made it clear that the developers are looking at the Charge Rifle and keeping tabs on its strength:
“We understand some of the issues with the Charge Rifle… We know how it spikes a bit differently… So, we are thinking about it, we’re working on it, but we have nothing to announce and no plans we can talk about at the moment.”
Clearly, there are no Charge Rifle changes coming in Season 14, but it does seem like it’s on the developer’s radar, as Eric states they are “working on it.”
Perhaps the introduction of Vantage will be the breaking point for the Charge Rifle, as her Passive is greatly beneficial when using Snipers, so we may see it used more.
Only time will tell, but for now, check out why NICKMERCS wants Call of Duty: Warzone to copy Apex Legends.
